Anyone can show you a fast quote. The hard part is the ship date — because a quote is software, and a ship date is a machine that has to be free on Tuesday. Here's how we make dates we can sign our name to.

The problem with marketplaces

Manufacturing marketplaces broker each job to whoever bids. That means your part waits in a stranger's queue behind their production work, your lead time is whatever they say it is this week, and quality is a lottery drawn from shops competing to be cheapest. The quote arrives fast; the parts don't.

What we do instead

We contract committed machine-hours at a curated set of American shops — capacity that belongs to network orders every week, at pre-negotiated rates, under standing quality terms. When you book a Rush order, we're not asking a shop for a favor. We're scheduling hours we already own onto a machine we already know.

Shops sign up for the inverse reason: guaranteed baseload without sales overhead, payment on delivery, and free software — the full shop offer is public. A network where both sides are better off inside than outside is the only kind that holds under pressure.

One order, many hands, zero coordination for you

A finished part is usually three businesses' work — machining, finishing, inspection. Normally that's three POs, three schedules, and two chances for your part to sit on a dock. Network finishers run on the same reserved-capacity terms as our machine shops, so an anodized part moves shop → finisher → inspection on one schedule we control end to end. Praetore is the single counterparty for all of it: one order, one invoice, one company accountable.

Audit

We visit the shop. We look at the machines, the inspection equipment, the scheduling board, and the scrap bin. Plenty of impressive websites don't survive the walk-through.

Contract

Rates agreed up front for a defined work envelope, committed weekly hours reserved for network jobs, quality terms and remake obligations in writing. No job-by-job bidding, in either direction.

Calibrate

Their first network jobs run with heightened inspection while our pricing engine learns their machines' actual speeds and their real strengths — so we route them work they're genuinely best at.

Measure

On-time rate, quality escapes, responsiveness — tracked on every single job, forever. Consistent performers get more hours. Problems get addressed or the capacity gets re-contracted.
